Error 18456 - domain admins only users that can authenticate

SQL 2000 SP3a
I have my server set up and my ODBC client configured. When I log in as
myself, as a domain admin, I can set my authentication to Windows (in my
ODBC), when I log on as a Domain Users, I cannot.
I get and error 18456. My server properties show SQL Server and Windows
authentication is allowed and there is no semi-colon in my password. What
security setting am I missing to allow my domain users to authenticate via
Windows authentication?
TIAHi,
Did you gave domain OS user access to SQL Server?
If not; open Enterprise manager and use Security option to add the Domain
user/group to SQL Server.

Error 14421

I have configured log shipping on SQL Server 2000, and all data is being
restored correctly on destination servers within 30 minutes.
The problem is the continuing failure of the Log Shipping Alert Job -
Restore task.
Every minute it records the error 14421 in the event log
The log shipping destination ______ is out of sync by 12345 minutes.
I have been told before that this error is not meaningful, and this appears
to be true since the data is being restored correctly.
However, some admin folks not knowledgeable about log shipping are troubled
by the huge quantities of RED in the event log, and I don't blame them.
They don't really accept a solution such as disabling the offending task,
since this smacks of concealing a problem rather than resolving it.
What can I do?

I forgot to mention, I'm using SP3, which was supposed to correct this
problem.
I haven't had a chance to install SP4 on the primary yet.
One of the destination servers has SP4 - would that cause the error?

error : 18452 in clustering; very urgent

We have 2 failover servers and one client in our test environment. We have all the three configured in mixed mode authentication(windows + sql server authentication). But when we are failing over from 1st server to 2nd one, we are getting the following error message,
'Unable to connected to server xxxx: Server : Msg 18452, Level 16, State 1 [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user 'null'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL server connection.'

I got some clue.

For instance we have ser1 and ser2 as clusters. I registered both in the client's EM. Now what I did was, I made ser1 to run and stopped sql service in ser2 (active/passive) through failover. Now in the client's EM I'm able to open ser1 and I cannot access ser2. Now what I did was, I failed over to ser2 ( so sql service in ser1 is stopped). But now I can still be able to access ser1 and also I can access ser2, even I'm able to open query analyzer in ser1 through EM.But when I try to open query analyzer directly, it is giving the same error message. ser1 is the virtual name given to both ser1 and ser2. So I think when connecting through EM, failover is occuring fine.I'm just wondering why is this happening only with dsn. Can anybody help me?

You can get this particular error in a number of scenarios -- the common scenario is when one attempts SQL authentication using an NT login account. If the system is unable to find the login account it will raise this error. It is not clear the scenario behind this error.

|||The information you provided is not sufficient to diagnose the problem. Do you get this error only after failover? If you start the SQL Server serive on node ser2 (using net start and not via cluster admin) do you still get the same error when the client is also running on node2? Do you get this error only when the client is running on a different node than the SQL Server?
The error will be raised when SQL authentication is tried using an NT login account and it seems like the system is not able to find the login account. Make sure you are using the same account to connect after failover.

Erro in Internet Explorer

Hi,
I'm new to this Discussion forums.I've a problem in IE.
I've configured my IE and when i'm trying to connect to Internet,i get the
following error.Kindly help me in resolving the issue.
"Internet Explorer could not open the search page".
Any help in this regard would be appreciated.

I have a problem of getting IE to connect to any websites apart from
hotmail. Everytime I put in a web address in the address bar it just comes
back saying application not found. But it will go to websites via the search
bar on msn homepage.Then when I try to go to the home address it wont do it
it stays at whatever website adress is in the address bar and sometimes I
have an error saying something like error unable to close down and about 40
tiled IE blank web pages start up. I have now reinstalled mozilla and that
works ok( i had to download it onto my laptop and transfer it here to the pc
.)
I have noticed that the icon next to a web address on the adress bar and in
my history is like a data icon and when i go into history and click on a web
address it says application not found then it lainches choose application to
open this file and when i choose IE it opens the link. I have also found tha

when i go to a website to download anything such as a file from microsoft it
wont let me it says same data not found.
I have tried scf/scannow but it just kept saying please insert the correct
disc. I have xp pro with service pack 2 but it would not read it and I know
the cd rom works correctly I also have a service pack 2 disc that a friend
gave me but that also did not work. I just kept doing cancel and again it
installed some files but not all.
I have also logged on to aother user account to see if IE worked there and
it did not I also created a new user account just in case my one was corrupt
but still had the same issue with IE.
If I do system repair Im going to have same problems as I had once before
with missing files. so I do not want to try that one again.
I have even tried to install a new IE6 but it wont let me it says a previous
installation has pending work requiring a reboot. you need to restart your
computer to complete that installation before running Internet explorer set
up.
I know I could just continue to use firefox but I cannot do windows updates
if I do not have IE. I am completely at a loss what to do now so any help
would be very much appeciated
