You can run this with the repair option and see if it
fixes your problem.

>|||Read about rebuilding the master database (rebuildm.exe). That will clear out all system databases,
so after that you need to restore master and msdb in order to get that stuff back.

hi Eric,
we encountered the same issue on a freshly install of an
active/passive cluster Windows 2000 AS SP4 with SQLServer 2000 SP3.
the issue comes out when we try to move related cluster services from
node A to node B.
apart of fixing the master table, I'd be interested on knowing the
cause of such index curruption.
have you got any ideas?

Error 0x80040E31
Hi.
Do you get any text with the error message, or just the error code?
Somebody can tell how to deal with this error. When I try to connect from an
asp page to update a record wich has a ntext field it give me this error...
I tried with sp_configure 'remote query timeout',0 but no works...
What can I do ??

Do you get any text with the error message, or just the error code?
If I am to guess from your fiddling with "remote query timeout", the
error is "Timeout Expired". "remote query timeout" is not going to help
you on that one, since that that is the time SQL Server uses when connecting
to linked servers.
Timeouts are always defined on client level, and from an ASP page, you would
set the CommandTimeout on the Connection object. Set it to 0 to wait
indefintely. By default the timeout is 30 seconds.
Another issue why your update takes more than 30 seconds. It could be a
blocking issue, and in that case it does not help if you change the timeout.
But with no information about your code and your system it's impossible to
tell.

When we try to run aggregation or purge queries on some tables
we are getting following message:

After this we executed DBCC CHECKDB. Attaching the output obtained after executing this command, to fix these errors we executed DBCC repair_allow_data_loss. I am attaching output for this also. Pls go thru the logs and pls let me know what could be the problem and how it can be addressed.

MallaIf this is a production system where uptime is important, you are probably looking at a restoration from backup. If you have time on your hands, you can try DBCC with repair_allow_data_loss a second time, as the first seems to have repaired one error. Microsoft support will probably advise the restore as well, since you can not really be sure what or how much data is going to be lost with repair_allow_data_loss.
Be sure to check in the Windows System Event Log for disk errors, as you may have a bad controller or bad disk on this server. If the hardware is not fixed, you may see this come up again and again.|||You should not have run with repair_allow_data_loss clause! All you had to do was to drop constraints on the offending tables (you had ONLY 2, and they were spelled out both with names and object IDs!!!), drop indexes on them, BCP data out of those tables, truncate the offending tables, re-create indexes, BULK INSERT data back in, and re-create constraints.

Error - procedure expects parameter, which was not supplied
Hi,
I created a stored procedure in the sql server. I try to insert a record from the aspx page. But I keep getting this error,
"procedure expects parameter <@.firstname>, which was not supplied". This is what I am doing.
cmd.CommandText = "proc_insertuser";
cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure;
cmd.Parameters.Add("@.firstname", SqlDbType.VarChar, 50);
cmd.Parameters["@.firstname"].Value = txtFirstName.Text
...other parameters
I checked the parameter names, it matches correctly. The parameter does get added to the collection. I checked it using cmd.Parameters.Contains("@.firstname") and the value is also correct. Using query analyzer I executed the procedure, I am able to insert a record.
Can anyone tell me what could be the problem.
TAICan you use SQL Profiler? Perhaps that will help diagnose the problem. Is there some other parameter that is missing and being mis-reported?|||if you are using VB.NET I would try replacing your brackets surrounding your parameter name w/ parenthesis instead.

This looks like a dual post. Here was my response for that one.
You should try looking in the SSRS logs to see if it gives you any
descriptive information (normally located in: C:\Program Files
\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.2\Reporting Services\LogFiles ). If you
cannot resolve the issue by looking at the logs, you should look into
reinstalling SSRS. Hope this helps.
