Error 1604 when startign SQLAgent Service!

Hi,
I am beta testing MOM 2005 SQL MAnagement pack which requires the
SQLSERVERAGENT service to be started. But upon starting the same i get the
following error:
"Could not start the SQLSERVERAGENT on the computer.Eroor 1069 the service
did not start due to a logon failure".
Getting this error both on the 2003 and 2000 server. As I'm a newbie to SQL
can someone kindly let me know as to why this error is occuring?
Many Thanks!!!Verify that the domain / workgroup user account that is running the service
has the correct password.
Go to manage->services->SQLSERVERAGENT then Log On tab page and retype the
password (verify that the current user in the user field is correct). Now
see if the service will start.

Error -133 on installing Service Pack 4 for SQL7

Hallo, my problem is to upgrade instance of SQL7 to SQL7 SP4.

Server is WIN2K SP4 + MDAC 2.8 SP1

Installing the SQL7 Server from CD is OK.

When i try to apply the SQL7 SP4 the first fase, when SP4 checks all conditions to start is OK, when start to copy file i receive an error -113 like this

--

Error occurred during the move data process: -113

Component Server: base server \ base server files

File Group: Base Server Files

File: C:\70SP4\X86\Setup.....\SQLIMAGE.DLL

--

On server is installed the library SQLDMO.DLL for SQL2000 but only the library used by an application VB6.

In need to install SQL7 and i can't install SQL2000 or SQL2005 because we work with an application written for SQL7. I've tried to migrate application SQL2000 but not work properly.

Somebody can help me ?

Thanks in advance.

Aragorn

Have you got or already installed SQL 7 on this machine?

If there are instances running for SQL 2000 and 2005 then you may not be able to install previous version of SQL until unless these are uninstalled.

It might be a problem with SP4 files, try to download again and apply.

Error - SuperSocket info: (SpnRegister): Error 8206

We just installed SQL Server 2000 (as part of SBS 2003) including service pack 3a.

When we reboot the server a message pops up that a service did not start properly.

The error is 'SuperSocket info: (SpnRegister): Error 8206'.

I have searched here and other places on the Internet without any success.

All assistance is appreciated as we cannot continue.

Hello, Allan!

You should check if the SQL SErver service account has permission enough in your server. This error normally occours when you start SQL Server service and you are not in a domain environment or your SQL Server couldn't find Domain Controller to create a SPN.

First: check the SQL Server service Account. If you don't have a specific account for that, use Local System or use another domain account and put it inside the local administrators group.
